Tuesday Night Trail Runs

July 3rd @6pm - Tuesday Night Trail Runs - Meet at the store anytime before 6pm for a group trail run through Frick park. Run lenghts will vary between 5-8 miles. Run leaves the store at 6pm sharp and returns to the store for social hour after. We will update the miles/schedule monthly but through summer 2018 it will be every Tuesday rain or shine.

Washington - We will split this group up into a trail run and/or hike group depending on response but we will be doing the 2.5 mile Greenleaf Trail loop. Pedal to DC: Book Tour to Save the Boundary Waters - Stops in Pittsburgh

Join authors and Explorers Dave and Amy Freeman along with 3 Rivers Outdoor Company to celebrate Pedal to D.C.: A Book Tour to Save the Boundary Waters. The couple will tow a canoe while bicycling 1,750 miles from Ely, MN to Washington D.C. to raise awareness of the threat from sulfide-ore copper mining proposed in the Boundary Waters watershed and to promote their award-winning book, A YEAR IN THE WILDERNESS. Join them at 3 Rivers Outdoor Company for a presentation and audience Q&A, book signing, and a chance to sign their canoe to show your support!

This event is FREE! All are welcome.

Pedal to D.C. is a collaborative tour between the Freemans, Save the Boundary Waters, and Milkweed Editions.

Paddle Meet-up On the Allegheny River

Do you have a kayak, canoe, or stand-up-paddle board and you are looking for others to join up with for an outing on some local waterways? Join us on a group paddle on the Allegheny River as we explore around Sycamore Island on Sunday afternoon June 3rd. Meet up at 3 Rivers Outdoor Co., 1130 S. Braddock Ave. Pgh. Pa. 15218 between 2-2:30pm, we will shuttle and car pool to the put-in point in Verona at the 10.5 mile public access point across from the Steel City Rowing Club. We will depart as a group for a paddle around the island between 3-3:30pm. All participants must provide their own boat, sup, canoe, and PFD (life jacket), and paddle. Participants can depart at their own leisure. Full paddle expected to take two hours.

Adventurer's Plant Identification Hike @ Frick

One of the local, woman-owned businesses whose product we carry is celebrating the Grand Opening with us! Eryn from Apothecary Muse will lead an Adventurer's Plant Identification Toolkit Hike, at 10am on Sunday, starting and finishing from the store. Participants should be preparing with hiking boots, a snack and water to hike narrow and uneven terrain for 2 hours with several brief stops. It will be free and open to the public, recommended age 12+.

Family Fun Run is a led 1.5 mile run/walk. We will also have a 3.5 mile group run for those looking for a little more work out. Join us after for coffee and cupcakes back at the shop.

Specialize Bike Demos/Mt Bike Course by The Wheel Mill

To celebrate our Grand Opening The Wheel Mill will be brining out their fleet of Specialized mountain bikes for all to demo from 10am - 12pm & 2pm -4pm with a skills/instruction clinic from 12pm -2pm for the first 10 participants to register the day of at their booth.

Demo bikes available from 10am-12pm and 2-4pm

Clinic/ride from 12-2pm (limited to first 10 riders to sign up)

Sign up starts 15 minutes prior to start, limit 10 riders. Minimum age 15yrs to participate.

Meet at the Wheel Mill tent at the expo. This is in the parking lot at 3 Rivers Outdoor Co. 1130 S. Braddock Ave. Pgh. Pa. 15218

This will be a wheel lift clinic with a focus on being able to get over the logs and large roots found in Frick Park. A trail ride will be incorporated into the clinic. 

For Intermediate Mountain Bike Riders. 

Must be able to comfortably ride a minimum of 8 miles of single track mountain bike trails in one outing. 

Helmets required. 

Bring all of your own riding gear. 

Bring enough water and food for two hours of riding.
