MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Meet ARJUN
Arjun is a software engineer, yoga practitioner, teacher (RYT-500), and nature lover. He was born and brought up in India and moved to the USA to pursue his career in engineering. Initially, Arjun used to think that Yoga was not for him. Only when he tried a class in person did he starts to feel all the excellent benefits of Yoga. He never looked back. He got deeper into his Yoga practice and completed 200- and 300 hour teacher training courses. As a teacher, he likes to deliver Yoga classes aiming to relieve the tension in the physical body, increase awareness in the energetic body, and go deeper into the meditative states of our being.

What to Expect
Arjun teaches Heartfulness Yoga. This teaching style is a meditative approach to Yoga that allows us to explore the physical, mental, and spiritual all at once. Heartfulness Yoga brings you this full spectrum of Yoga by creating a seamless flow between asanas, pranayam, and meditation in every class designed to carry you deeper in your journey. The Heartfulness Yoga class starts with a breathing exercise, then moves on to simple loosening practices to warm up the body, followed by sun salutations and a series of carefully selected asanas that move the pranic energy in a certain order. After the physical asanas, the Yoga class usually ends with a short Heartfulness meditation. All levels are welcome.

Meet BIANCA
Bianca is a yoga teacher and practitioner born and raised in the Pittsburgh area.  She began her journey of movement as soon as her feet touched the ground, exploring movement through dance classes from ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and tribal belly dance. Her yoga practice began when she was 9 years old with her first meditation lesson at her Dad’s apartment in Manhattan. The desire to teach and share the goodness of yoga finally became a reality in the fall of 2020. Earning 200 hours as a registered yoga teacher in vinyasa krama. She hopes to share the practice with everybody who is open to receive, especially those who are in need of healing, while bringing communities that are under-represented to the forefront. Currently she is teaching classes at 3 Rivers Outdoor Company on alternating Saturdays, Stray Dog in Warrendale and also has private classes available, both in-person or online.

What to Expect
Creative, flowy, Vinyasa Krama. Vinyasa Krama promotes building and growing. The flow of class will progress step-by-step towards a peak pose.

Meet JESSICA
Jessica has been practicing yoga since 2006, first as a way to build strength and improve proprioception, then as recovery from physically demanding work days and outdoor adventures. Eventually, yoga became a daily ritual of resetting mind and body and renewing creativity. She received her 200 hour certification through One Point One Yoga in 2021. Her classes have roots in vinyasa, which simply stated, is linking poses together seamlessly through breath. Jessica teaches rotating Saturdays at 3ROC and weekly classes at ASCEND Climbing Gym. In her free time, Jessica enjoys running, hiking, axe-throwing, karaoke, and craft beer. Follow her on IG @jessicaschaefer.yoga

What to Expect:

Expect a focus on anatomy and mobility, with elements of breathwork, meditation, and yoga philosophy sprinkled in.

Meet NATALIE
Natalie has been practicing yoga for 19 years. She was first introduced in 2005 at Point Park University’s Summer Dance Intensive, and was quickly hooked after trying her first hot power class at Amazing Yoga soon thereafter. Although yoga began purely as a physical fitness regime, Natalie quickly began to realize that there was a lot more going on here than simply sweating from her shins! This was a full body experience that touched her body, mind, and soul, and gave her a sense of peace and steadiness through the ups and downs of life. In 2009 she moved to Santa Monica, CA where she studied rigorously at Bryan Kest’s Santa Monica Power Yoga and she received her official teaching certification from Govindas Rosen at Bhakti Yoga Shala in 2010. Since then, she has deepened her practice through a month long, yoga-centric voyage to India, regular practice at Yoga Pod in Boulder, CO, and she currently studies at Pittsburgh’s own One Point One.

A full time mother of two, Natalie is an Airbnb Superhost and she and her husband enjoy creating an urban homestead with chickens and gardens (and eventually bees!) in their Upper Hill home. She has a BA in Musical Theatre from Point Park University and an MA Environmental Leadership from Naropa University.

What to Expect
Natalie teaches a “Bhakti Power Vinyasa Flow” style of class (Bhakti is the heart of yoga, a devotional practice). Expect to challenge your physical body while integrating elements of Bhakti into every class.
