Bike Tuning Basics with Free Ride: Rim & Disc Brakes

Join Free Ride volunteers to learn about the basics of tuning your bike! During the February session, we'll focus on how to tune rim and disc brakes. We'll also have tubes and patch kits for anyone interested in learning how to fix a flat. Our team will be around from 12-2pm.

3ROC is excited to partner with Free Ride and Cinderlands as part of our Community Impact Partner program in 2026. Cinderlands' Full Squish Hazy IPA and non-alcoholic Hop Water will be available at the event, and throughout the partnership for a $5 suggested donation benefiting Free Ride's mission. The partners will also collaborate on a series of monthly events (including this one!) showcasing the nonprofit's mission.

ABOUT FREE RIDE

Free Ride Bicycle Project is a 501(c)(3) bicycle collective celebrating 25 years of operation in 2026. Our mission is to enable the Pittsburgh community to recycle and maintain bicycles. We aim to enhance the health of our community and environment by promoting affordable bicycle transportation. Free Ride offers weekly Open Shops where anyone can come in and fix their bike using our tools and resources. During Open Shop, you can also purchase used bikes and parts, get a bike through our Free Bike Program, or pick up a free kids bike. We also host Volunteer Nights where volunteers help us fix up bikes to get back into the community. No prior knowledge is necessary to come to Volunteer Nights; our staff will teach you everything you need to know! We always welcome new volunteers, no sign up required!
