Paddling Film Festival World Tour - Pittsburgh

Outkast Paddlers presents the 14th annual Paddling Film Festival at Regent Square Theater in Pittsburgh on April 27, 2019.

The Paddling Film Festival is an international adventure film tour presenting the world’s best paddling films of the year– whitewater, sea kayaking, canoeing, SUP, action and lifestyle – in more than 120 cities and towns across Canada, United States and around the world. With 26 inspiring paddling films shortlisted for the World Tour, including the 10 festival category winners, audiences will see hairy whitewater action, sea kayakers exploring remote coastlines, northern river canoe expeditions, international river travel films, motivating environmental documentaries and grueling kayak fishing battles. Films include Feel of Vision, about the first blind person to whitewater kayak the entire length of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon in a solo kayak; Metrophobia about a team of French/Swiss mountaineers that set off on a 170km kayak journey to discover one of the largest bigwalls in Greenland; and Sea Kayak Surfing in Jamaica, about the Wilmot family who runs the Jamnesia Surf Camp outside of Kingston. The Paddling Film Festival World Tour is produced by Rapid Media and presented in Pittsburgh by Outkast Paddlers on Saturday, April 27 – doors open at 7pm and movies start at 7:30pm.

This year’s film festival is also supported by 3 Rivers Outdoor Company (3ROC) who will be hosting a campfire and food truck at their location, 1130 S. Braddock Avenue, from 4-7 pm.
