Regent Square Earth Day Celebration

Join the Regent Square Civic Association, Tree Pittsburgh, UpstreamPgh and 3 Rivers Outdoor Co. to celebrate Earth Day in Regent Square on Saturday, April 20th! We'll have several volunteer projects taking place in the Square and in Lower Frick Park throughout the morning, followed by outdoor music with Mountains Meet the Moon Band!

Volunteer Opportunities

UpstreamPgh's Spring Stream Sweep

Every time it rains, trash & debris from Pittsburgh, Edgewood, Wilkinsburg, & Swissvale washes into Nine Mile Run. Join us in celebrating Earth Day by cleaning up the stream and making it a healthier habitat for all.

We will provide gloves, safety vests, and trash bags. Some trash grabbers will be available, but are first come, first serve. Please wear long pants & sturdy boots or closed-toe shoes. If you have tall rain boots, hip boots, or waders, please bring them so we can provide ours to those who do not. Participants should expect to get muddy and possibly wet, so please plan your attire accordingly.

Please note: While we love our furry friends over at UpstreamPgh, we kindly ask that you do not bring your pets along with you to this event.

Tree Pittsburgh will provide all the safety gear and tools necessary to get the work done! Please wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather!

Trail Pittsburgh's Frick Park Trail Improvements
Saturday 4/20 @ 9am at the Frick Park lower parking lot. We plan to finish by noon. Please bring work gloves if you have them, water, and sturdy footwear. Tools will be provided.
Help Trail Pittsburgh take care of the singletrack trails in Frick Park! We will primarily be working on rerouting a user-created trail between Trough and Rollercoaster trails to make it more sustainable long term and create a safer intersection with Lower Riverview trail. This event will cover much of the construction of the new section of trail, and hopefully also restoration of the old one. There may also be some maintenance repairs on Rollercoaster Trail or invasive species removal if resources allow.
